

Kendriya vidyalaya Sangathan, with its headquarter based in New Delhi, is an autonomous body fully financed by Govt. of India and run under the ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. It was established in 1962 on the recommendation of II C.P.C. with a view to catering the educational needs of the children to transferable Central Govt. employees including Defense and Para-Military personnel, by providing a common syllabus and Kendriya Vidyalaya came into existence., At present it has nearly 900 Kendriya Vidyalayas including two other Kendriya vidyalayas abroad-one in Kathmandu (Nepal) and other in Moscow (Russia). It has 18 regional Offices, with Ahmedabad Region having its Regional Office at Sector 30, Gandhinagar (Gujarat).
